IMPORTANT: Before initiating the registration for SNAP 2024, please ensure that you go to your browser settings and TURN OFF the auto fill option to avoid incorrect information being entered.

The candidate should be ready with a soft copy of her/his recent passport size colour photo (not more than six months old) in .jpg, .jpeg, .png or .gif formats, with a size between 10 KB to 5 MB to be uploaded to her/his registration form.

A candidate aspiring to join a Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme offered by any Institute of SIU has to appear for the common, mandatory Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) Computer Based Test (CBT) which will be conducted at Test Centres.

  1. Click on 'Register'.
  2. Read all the Instructions carefully and then click on the 'Continue' button to accept the Terms and Conditions.
  3. Fill in the details requested on the page displayed.
  4. Click on 'Save & Continue'. An OTP will be sent to the mobile number and email id that you have entered.
  5. Enter the 'OTP' and submit.
  6. After successful registration, you will get an e-mail & SMS containing your SNAP ID and password. Use this SNAP ID for all communications regarding the SNAP 2024 entrance test / admission procedure.
  7. Pay the SNAP test registration fee of INR 2250 per test [government taxes would be additional as and when applicable] Non-Transferable and Non-Refundable as per the instructions mentioned on the Registration Portal.
  8. A candidate aspiring to join her/his desired M.B.A. programmes is required to complete the registration process of those programmes before the closing date of the same. Payment towards the programme registration fee must be made through the Registration Portal. After making the payment for SNAP Test registration fee, a candidate is required to make separate registration fee payment of INR 1,000 (government taxes would be additional as and when applicable) (Non-Transferable and Non-Refundable) per programme per institute at this stage.
  9. The modes of payment for the programme(s) registration fee is same as that for SNAP.
  10. Candidate must declare and maintain a valid and unique email account and a mobile phone number throughout the selection process.
  11. A candidate is required to fill in the correct information in the online registration form which corresponds to her/his credentials.
  12. Register online on the website www.snaptest.org (upto November 22, 2024 (Friday).
    Note: No changes shall be permitted after the registration under any circumstances.
  13. Please also note that if any information provided by a candidate is found to be incorrect, the University shall have right to cancel the candidature of that candidate

A candidate applying under any of the reserved categories (Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribes / Differently Abled / Children or Wards of Defence Personnel* / Kashmiri Migrants) is mandatorily required to submit relevant document issued by competent authority. Any participation, at any stage of admission process by that candidate is purely provisional and always subject to verification and authentication of relevant documents.

For the candidates applying under SC/ ST category:

Kindly note that caste certificates issued only for respective state govt. benefits will not be accepted. Caste certificates, if issued in vernacular, will need to be supported by a certified English translation, issued by a competent authority.

Reservation Policy of SIU: As per the UGC guideline 2006, the reservation policy for all the institutes under the University is as follows:

For the candidates applying under * Children / Wards of Defence Personnel

The five percent reservation for the Children / Wards of Defence Personnel is applicable only for Programmes at their respective Institutes as mentioned below:

  • M.B.A. (International Business) - Symbiosis Institute of International Business (SIIB, Pune)
  • M.B.A. (Digital and Telecom Management) - Symbiosis Institute of Digital and Telecom Management (SIDTM, Pune) [Formerly Symbiosis Institute of Telecom Management (SITM)]
  • M.B.A. (Information Technology) - Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research (SICSR, Pune)
  • M.B.A. (Information Technology Business Management) - Symbiosis Centre for Information Technology (SCIT, Pune)

The definition of Defence Personnel is:

The term Defence Personnel would mean only those serving / retired Defence Personnel from Army, Navy, Air Force. Retired defence personnel are those who fall in the category of ex-servicemen as laid down in Ministry of Defence letter no 36035/5/85-Estt (SCT) dated 14 April 1987. It includes defence personnel who died while in service or after retirement.

Note:- A candidate who is interested to apply under the category "Children / Wards of Defence Personnel" for any of the above-mentioned programme(s), should select the category "Children / Wards of Defence Personnel" for each programme separately.

In case a candidate falls under more than one of the above categories (e.g. Scheduled Caste as well as Differently Abled or any other combination), s/he would need to select any one Category (i.e. either Scheduled Caste OR Differently Abled in the case of example mentioned above) at the time of filling up the SNAP registration form. The category selected by the candidate at the time of filling the registration form will be considered to be her/his category for the entire admission process and her/his benefits and entitlements shall be according to such selected category. S/he will not be able to claim benefit under the other category/ies at any stage of admission on any account whatsoever.

Please also note that if any information provided by a candidate in respect of her/his category is found to be incorrect, the University shall have right to cancel the candidature of that candidate.

At SIMS 90% of the total sanctioned intake capacity is reserved for dependents (children / ward / spouse) of Defence Personnel. (As per MoU with Ministry of Defence clause no. 13 sub clause (d) The term 'Defence Personnel' would mean only those serving / retired Defence Personnel from the Army, Navy and Air Force. Retired defence personnel are those who fall in the category of ex-serviceman as laid down vide Ministry of Defence letter no. 36034/5/85-Estt (SCT) dated 14 April 1987).

Please also note that if any information provided by a candidate in respect of her/his category is found to be incorrect, the University shall have right to cancel the candidature of that candidate.

Reservation of seats within the sanctioned intake is as follows:

  • Defence Category- General: 80% seats for Defence personnel and their dependents (Children / Ward / Spouse) of Defence personnel. (as per merit)
  • Defence category- Special: 10% seats for Defence personnel and their dependents (Children / Ward / Spouse) in consultation with Headquarters, Southern Command should cater for
    i] Killed in action (war, counter insurgency or war like operation)
    ii] Disabled in action (war, counter insurgency or war like operation) with more that 50% disability
    iii] Next of kin of service personnel who have died while in service, death being attributable to military service (as per merit)
  • Open / Industry Category: 10% seats are in open category to civilian candidates under open or sponsored / recommended by the Industry (as per merit).

In compliance to Government directives on disability guidelines issued by the office of the Chief Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities vide Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, New Delhi notification no. 16-18/97 dated 01st June 2001 and University Grants Commission Notification No. F.6-1/2006 (CPP-II/SCT) dated 30/09/2009, SIU has made provision of reserving 3% seats for Differently Abled Category (DAC) candidates in all the programmes offered by all the Institutes of SIU.

The types of disabilities covered are: -

  1. Vision Impairment
  2. Hearing Impairment
  3. Locomotor Disabilities
  4. Mental Retardation
  5. Multiple Disabilities
  6. Dyslexia/Dysgraphia/ Dyscalculia

*Differently Abled (DA) candidate means a candidate having any of the disabilities in accordance with the Persons with Disabilities Act - 1995 and as per revised Gazette of India Registered no: DL - (N)04/0007/2003-16 dated December 28, 2016.

Process to be followed for Differently Abled Candidates (DAC):

  • The candidate applying for the entrance examination/admission in the DAC (Differently Abled Category), selects the type of disability available in the DA options on the portal.

  • A Differently Abled Category candidate is required to upload his/her copy of Disability Certificate issued by Competent Government Medical Authority the AND Unique Disability ID (UD ID) Card at the time of registration for entrance/admission of SIU to ascertain percentage and the type of the disability.

  • The Medical Superintendent, SUHRC through Medical Board shall ascertain the genuineness of the said documents. Once the documents are found authentic and correct by the Medical Board, SUHRC, his/her eligibility will be certified under the DA category.
Note-If a candidate selects Differently Abled Category in the Registration form and s/he requires scribe/writer facility please note SIU will not be providing scribe/writer. The candidate has to make her/his own arrangement for scribe/writer. The scribe/writer should not have completed studies beyond the Class XII. Request for approval for scribe/writer should be sent to info@snaptest.org. The approval email and supporting documents should be carried at the time of appearing for the SNAP Test.

As per SIU norms, a Differently Abled Candidate is provided with 20 minutes of compensatory time for every 60 minutes of test.

  1. Domiciled: (25% of seats within the sanctioned intake- Only in case of Constituents at Off-Campus center, Nagpur)

    In accordance with Clause A of Schedule C of the Lease Deed signed between Nagpur Municipal Corporation, Nagpur and Symbiosis, Pune on 4th September, 2017, the University has reserved 25% seats against the approved intake in each programme offered at the Off-campus Centre of the University at Nagpur for Nagpur Domiciled candidates.

  2. The definition for Nagpur Domicile is:

    'Nagpur Domiciled' means candidates, who are domiciled in Nagpur for a period of 5(five) years as on the date of commencement of the academic year and who (a) are or will be graduates or students of Nagpur University, and/ or (b)are recipients of school certificates from the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, the Council of Indian School Certificate Examinations, and/ or the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)/ ICSE Board.

While giving admission under the Nagpur domicile category

  • Residence Criterion: Resident of Nagpur Urban (five continuous or intermittent years) is mandatory,
  • Educational Criterion: The candidate should fulfil one of the following criteria
  • (a) graduate or pursuing graduation from Nagpur University

    - OR-

    (b) school certificates (10th and 12th) from (i) Maharashtra Board, (ii) CISCE (iii) CBSE, (iv) ICSE (It simply means 10th and 12th passed certificates from other State Boards and foreign school boards are NOT accepted)

Note : SNAP Test registration fee and programme(s) registration fee of the Institutes is Non-Transferable and Non-Refundable.

A candidate is required to pay a (Non-Transferable and Non-Refundable) registration fee of INR 2250 per test [government taxes would be additional as and when applicable] S/he has the option of following payment modes:

    A candidate is required to submit a Demand Draft (DD) for (Non-Transferable and Non Refundable) registration fee of INR 2250 per test [government taxes would be additional as and when applicable] from any Nationalized Bank in favour of 'Symbiosis Test Secretariat' payable at Pune.

    Choose the mode of Payment as 'Demand Draft' in 'Make Payment' Tab. Print the payment advice form, verify the details and the amount, get a DD from any Nationalized Bank, fill in the DD details, sign and send the Payment advice form along with the DD to the address mentioned below:

    The Symbiosis Test Secretariat will authenticate the receipt of the DD. Only after the payment is realized, would the candidate be able to view her/his Admit Card.

    A similar process will need to be followed if a candidate chooses Demand Draft option for the Programme(s) registration fee of the Institute(s).   • All foreign degrees/ qualifications need to be verified from AIU by the candidate before seeking admission to any program of SIU.
  • The Evaluation Division of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) issues equivalence certificate for foreign degrees/qualifications.
  • Additionally, for dual degree programme student needs to secure at least 6.5 GPA in the first semester at SSBF

Eligibility Requirement at Aston University (in addition to the above) -

  • 60% overall in Bachelor’s Degree | 6 out of 10 GPA |4.2 out of 7 GPA + a content minimum of 50% from each of the following areas: Economics(micro/macro), Statistics, Quantitative Methods, Mathematics, Finance
  • A minimum of 75% (CBSE/ISC) or 80% (State Board/NIOS) in Standard 12th English for the reasons of compliance OR 6.5 (3 bands at 6.0, and 1 band at 5.5) in IELTS
  • Letter of Recommendation (LOR) from your previous institute or employer.
  • Prior work experience is preferred however not mandatory. Work experience/Internship document to be provided, if applicable.

Eligibility Requirement at SIU (as per SIU norms)-

  • Minimum Academic IELTS of 6.5 overall with a minimum 6.0 in each band, or equivalent
  • Prior work experience preferred however not mandatory. Work experience/Internship document to be provided, if applicable.

  1. A candidate is required to download and print her/his SNAP Test Admit Card from the SNAP website [snaptest.org] available from December 02, 2024 (Monday) for SNAP Test 1, December 09, 2024 (Monday) for SNAP Test 02 and December 15, 2024 (Sunday) for SNAP Test 03 till the test day.
  2. The candidate should ensure that her/his latest passport size, colour photograph is pasted on the Admit Card at the place provided for before appearing for the test (The photograph should not be more than six months old).
  3. Admit Card along with Original Photo Identity Proof should be carried to the Test Centre at the time of the test. An acceptable photo identity is any one of the following,
    • Passport
    • Driving license
    • Voter ID Card
    • PAN Card
    • AADHAR Card (UID).
    Note: Soft copy of identity proof will not be accepted.
  4. An authorized person will verify and authenticate the Admit Card against the photo-id on the day of the test. The candidate should preserve this authenticated Admit Card for further GE-PI processes.
  5. The candidate should note that an authenticated Admit Card is an important document without which the candidate will not be permitted to appear for further selection processes of SIU. If the Authenticated Admit card is lost, a duplicate Admit Card will not be issued. It should be retained till the admission process is over.
  6. The candidate is advised to locate the allocated test Centre at least a day in advance to avoid any issue on the day of the test.
  7. Travel and staying arrangements will need to be done by the candidate..
  8. The scores published by the Symbiosis International (Deemed University) [SIU] shall be final and shall not be subject to any appeal or revaluation.

  1. The right to conduct the Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) Online Test 2024 rests with SIU. SIU reserves the right to re-schedule the test and/or change the test centre at its sole discretion, without assigning any reason thereof, and as warranted by the circumstances.
  2. SIU reserves the exclusive right to reject any application without assigning any reason thereof. A Non-Transferable and Non-Refundable fee of INR 2250 per test [government taxes would be additional as and when applicable] is payable by every candidate on registering for SNAP
  3. Register online on the website www.snaptest.org (upto November 22, 2024 (Friday).

  4. A candidate should first send an e-mail to registrar@siu.edu.in with details about her/his grievance. If the candidate is not satisfied with the decision of the Registrar, s/he can appeal to the ombudsman of the University. Information regarding the same is available on https://siu.edu.in/student-affairs.php. All disputes between the candidate and SIU in this regard are subject to the legal jurisdiction of Pune.
  5. All the information pertaining to SNAP will be posted on the web site and no separate communication by email or other means will be sent to the candidate. If such other means are used it does not constitute an obligation to continue to use such means.
  6. SNAP 2024 Score will be valid only for admission to select postgraduate (PG) programmes of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) [SIU] for the academic year of 2025-26. Admission to the select PG programmes at SIU are strictly based on merit, assessment of individual performance in SNAP Test and other processes prescribed by SIU.
  7. The information that a candidate provides in the application form will be used by SIU. You may receive information through e-mail or other form, on matters related to SIU/Constituent Institute(s) of SIU and you agree not to object to such mailers. The SNAP ADMIT CARD will be available on the web site (www.snaptest.org) for the candidates to view and take a printout. This admit card will not be sent out by any other means.
  8. It is mandatory to attend all components / tests of GE-PI to be eligible for admission to any PG programme. Only the candidate who attends all components / tests of selection process (GE-PI) shall be considered as eligible for generation of merit / wait / reject list. The candidate who remains absent for any one of the component / tests will be considered as ineligible for selection process of any of the M.B.A. degree programmes of SIU.
  9. If a candidate selects Differently Abled Category in SNAP 2024 Registration form and s/he requires a scribe/writer facility, please note that SIU will not be providing a scribe/writer. The candidate has to make her/his own arrangement for a scribe/writer. The qualification of the scribe/writer should be maximum Class XII passed. During the test, as per SIU Examination norms, a Differently Abled Candidate is provided with 20 minutes of compensatory time for every 60 minutes of test.

Foreign National (FN): A candidate is eligible to apply as a Foreign National (FN) if she/he is a citizen of any country other than India and holds a foreign passport.

Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI): A candidate is eligible to apply as OCI if she/he is granted with Overseas Citizenship of India and has an OCI card.

Person of Indian Origin (PIO): A candidate is eligible to apply as a Person of Indian Origin (PIO) if she/he has a PIO card, and is a citizen of a country other than India.
[As per the Government of India Notification dated 9th January 2015, the existing Persons of Indian Origin card holder registered as such shall be deemed to be Overseas Citizens of India card holders (OCI).]

Non-Resident Indian (NRI): A candidate is eligible to apply as a Non-Resident Indian (NRI) if she/he is an Indian National and has appeared for the 12th examination (equivalent to the Indian 12th) or graduation outside India. It is mandatory for one of the two qualifying examinations to be taken outside India.

An NRI candidate (graduated from a recognised university-Indian/Foreign) after having applied for SNAP Test has the option of consideration of her/his candidature as national student or under NRI category. In case an NRI candidate chooses to apply under NRI category, s/he will have to further register and apply through Symbiosis Centre for International Education. 2) Foreign National / Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI)/ Person of Indian Origin (PIO) candidate exempted from the entrance test. She/he has to appear for English Proficiency Test.

  2. Candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria for the programme(s) which they are desirous to pursue. SIU / Institute will not be responsible, if the candidate applies for programme(s) for which he/she is not eligible.
  3. Every candidate is urged to note that no donation or capitation fee is required to be paid for admission to any of the Symbiosis institutes. Parents and students are cautioned against falling prey to any such assurance/offer by any individual or outside agency.
  4. All aspirants / parents are hereby notified that some individuals / organisations are giving / making false and misleading advertisements / claims in newspapers, websites, social media platforms that they can ensure admission to Symbiosis International (Deemed University) and also charging heavy amount for the same. In this regard, SIU requests the aspirants / parents to refrain from entering into any transaction with such elements. SIU has not appointed any individual / agency / organisation to make such assurance on its behalf. It is a matter of Policy that SIU does not charge capitation fee for admission from students and this is widely and prominently published as well on all the relevant places like prospectus, website, SNAP portal, etc.
  5. Despite this Notice, if any aspirant / parents still proceed with or enters into transaction with such elements, they would be doing so at their own risk and cost. SIU further notifies that any aspirant attempting to approach SIU for admission through or at the instances of such agents will be permanently debarred from admission to all the courses and programmes at Symbiosis International (Deemed University).
  6. In the case of computer-based test (CBT) held at test centres:
    1. While all efforts will be made to ensure that the candidate gets a test city as per his / her preferences, however, in some exceptional circumstances, a different city in nearby area may be allotted.
    2. On the day of the test, your digital finger print and or photograph scan will be captured Candidates whose finger prints cannot be digitally scanned due to any reasons will not be permitted to take the SNAP test. It is strongly recommended that you avoid applying Mehndi / colour on your hands (palm side) for at least 5 days prior to the test.
  7. Online as well as computer-based testing is a proven and reliable process that is administered widely to candidates each year. As with paper and pencil testing, or virtually every other human endeavour, some problems could occur that might prevent a test from being delivered and/or a result from being generated. In such an unlikely event, every effort will be made to correct the problem, up to and including the administration of another test.
  8. The scores published by the SIU shall be final and shall not be subject to any appeal or revaluation.
  9. Any attempt to impersonate or indulge in any malpractice, identified at any stage of the admission process would disqualify the candidate from the admission processes of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) and may also lead to appropriate legal action as deemed fit.
  10. Applicants are advised to ensure that the information they have filled is accurate. No changes shall be permitted after the registration under any circumstances. Applicants are fully and solely responsible to provide correct information during the application process. If it is found that any information provided by the candidate at the time of filling / submitting the registration form is not true, SIU has the right to cancel the application or admission, at any stage, in accordance with its rules and regulations. Any direct or indirect attempt to influence the management and employees of the Institute will lead to automatic disqualification of the candidate.
  11. Aspirants are expected to read the SNAP Bulletin completely before commencing their registration process.
